Walks
Walkmill Community Walk; This is a 1 mile linear walk, taking approximately 1 hour and starting from the car park near to Walkmill Bridge. This site, once a coal mining site has now been developed for recreational purposes. Along the way look out for orchids, buzzards and numerous species of smaller birds. This is also an accessible route for people with limited mobility!
There are also several wooded walks:-
Moresby Wood, a beautiful wooded and forested area for various leisurely strolls taking in the beautiful flora and fauna of the area.
Hawkswood: This enchanting wooded area is characterised by tall trees, rippling streams and wild woodland flora. Here visitors will see the remnants of stone steps and benched footpaths indicating that this was once the garden of the nearby Millgrove House.
