Location Attractions

Pull on your comfiest boots and walk yourself to merriment around these Cumbrian parts. Santon Bridge village, on the doorstep to the site, has a gift and farm shop to top up on goodies to take home and for the tum. And what are the Lakes without cakes? Grab a piece of Grasmere gingerbread with a dollop of rum butter, or tuck into some trusty Kendall mint cake for a sugary boost to keep holiday exploration levels sky-high.

Just over five miles away in Wasdale you’ll reach one of Britain’s tiniest churches, St Olafs, with its timber beams, thought to have been made from Viking ships, and for hungry (and thirsty) fell explorers, The Wasdale Head Inn – the home of British climbing – makes for a welcome pit stop. The Bridge Inn, just a stroll from the site, is home to the annual ‘Biggest Liar’ competition – we kid you not, it’s a real thing!

The Woodlands Tea Room is nestled in a delightful woodland setting next door to the Santon Bridge Gift Shop which is within walking distance from our Campsite. It has a bright yet relaxing atmosphere – a perfect place to meet friends, relax, unwind, and eat good wholesome home-made food.
